Sir Gordon Howard Eliott Hodgkin (6 August 1932 – 9 March 2017) was a British painter and printmaker. His work is most often associated with abstraction. Howard Hodgkin was amongst the last great luminaries of a tradition of twentieth-century British abstraction
Howard Hodgkin came into his stride as a printmaker in the late 1970s. It was at this moment that, through the use of new techniques, the prints began to become equivalents, or “surrogates”, as Hodgkin once put it, for his paintings; things in their own right.
‘Artist and Model’ by Howard Hodgkin is on display at Jonathan Grant Gallery. For more information on Howard Hodgkin’s fine art prints please contact the Gallery.
