Layla Walter New Zealand, b. 1975
Layla Walter is a highly regarded New Zealand glass artist known for her intricately carved cast glass vessels. Working with both internal and external surfaces, she often draws on personal motifs like weaving and native flora and fauna. She has exhibited widely, both in New Zealand and internationally, and her work is held in major public and private collections including Te Papa, Auckland Museum, Sir Elton John, Sir Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, and Peter Gordon’s The Sugar Club.
