"In Anne and Richard Batley Burton's garden of their villa in Provence, there live two loveable donkeys called Kiwi and Chanson. It is rumoured they wait patiently for Anne to return to Provence as they too have a fancy for champagne, Dampierre Champagne. If you ever get invited to stay in the villa, Kiwi and Chanson will be waiting for you at the fence with a somewhat glazed look about their smiling faces. It is totally inconceivable that Anne, the 'Champagne Lady' of Auckland, the lady who bears the title 'Dame de l'Ordre des Coteaux du Champagne', would walk past these loveable little faces, champagne glass in hand, and not be moved to offer them something more romantic than a carrot."
