New Sculpture by Terry Stringer

The Model with the Sculptor’s Hands is a group of works made by the artist while reflecting on a long practice of sculpture making; hence the presence of sculptor’s hands along with the model as subject. At first glance the model prevails in each piece, but then the presence of the maker comes into view.

In the lead up to his solo exhibition at ARTIS Gallery, a new sculpture by Terry Stringer has been installed on the plinth outside the gallery.

The work, titled That Certain Smile, stands at two metres tall.
