'Down the Hall on Saturday Night'
Exhibition by ken Kendall

The Down The Hall on Saturday Night exhibition by Ken Kendall was displayed in Jonathan Grant Gallery from the 29th of June to the 18th of July 2020.

Born and raised in New Zealand, Kendall’s sculptures are closely associated with the human figure. His inspiring pieces are exhibited in New Zealand, Australia, America, United Kingdom and Europe all of which continue his legacy. His most recent commission was a life-size bronze of Masterton founder Joseph Masters. This stands in the main street of Masterton in the Wairarapa where Ken lived until he died on 27th February 2012.

This exhibition featured a series of 11 unique bronze sculptures created in the 1980’s. The series personified the lyrics to a New Zealand folk song Down The Hall on Saturday Night  written by Peter Cape in 1958.

The exhibition was sold as a set to an Auckland collector, but can still be viewed on our website.
