WS Hatton was an artist, who drew scenes of Australia and New Zealand in the 1850s and 1860s that were reproduced in the Illustrated London News. Despite the pictorial evidence, it is unlikely that Hatton ever actually visited Australia.

Watercolour of Auckland city from the hills behind looking over to the harbour, Pardington’s Mill can be seen and several churches as well as ships on the harbour.
