Katherine Mansfield 1888 – 1923

Produced by the French medalist Lucien Lafaye for the ‘Collection generale de la Monnaie’ and the city of Menton in France to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Katherine Mansfield’s death and 80 years since her birth.  On the face side it has  a portrait of Mansfield and the words ‘Katherine Mansfield 1888-1923’ and a relief view of Menton on the other side with the words – ‘Menton c’est le paradise d’une aube a l’autre’ (Menton – it’s paradise from one dawn to another’)

Mansfield was a resident in Menton in 1920 & 1921, prior to her death in 1923.
