White Night at Jonathan Grant Gallery

Auckland Arts Festival’s one-night arts extravaganza White Night is back!

All across town, inside and outside at over 100 venues and locations, artists, performers, musicians and makers of all description invite you to inspect, experience, watch, see, make and touch all sorts of wonderful creations. On White Night, galleries, squares, laneways and promenades, Auckland wide are free to explore at night.

Once again a part of the event, Jonathan Grant Gallery is presenting an exhibition of 30 paintings, dating from the 1850s to 2015, celebrating Auckland’s history.

The exhibition includes early photographs of Sir John Logan Campbell’s Kilbryde, original 19th Century paintings and watercolours of Parnell, Mt Eden, One Tree Hill and recent oils of the City and Takapuna. Many of the paintings will be accompanied by a photograph of the same view today.
